■楽曲解説

80年代を代表するアイドル「松田聖子」。ファッションの流行もを牽引した彼女のヒットソング4曲のメドレーです。
『赤いスイートピー』
呉田軽穂(松任谷由実)が作曲を手掛け、松本隆が作詞を手掛けた「松」コンビによって作られ松田聖子が歌った作品です。リリース当時は赤いスイートピー(花)はマイナーなカラーでこの曲のヒットがきっかけに品種改良が進み鮮やかな赤いスイートピーが売られるようになりました。
『SWEET MEMORIES』
12/8拍子のロッカバラードの形式で作曲されており、2番には英語詞も登場するお洒落で大人っぽい作品です。2020年にはマクドナルドのCMにも採用されるなど、幅広い世代に知られています。
『あなたに逢いたくて~Missing You~』
松田聖子本人による作詞作曲で制作されたこの曲は、日本レコード協会に認定されたミリオンセラーを記録した楽曲です。
『青い珊瑚礁』

全体的にスローな楽曲で構成してありますが、ひとつひとつの色が見えるようなアレンジを心がけました。ずっと吹き続けるのではなく各所での山を意識してストーリーを組み立てていくと吹き手も聴き手も飽きず感動的に演奏できるでしょう。

Medley of Seiko Matsuda

■Program Note

Seiko Matsuda was one of the most popular idols of the 1980s. This is a medley of four of her hit songs.

"Red Sweet Pea"
This song was written by the “Matsu” duo, with music composed by Karuho Kureta (Yumi Matsutoya) and lyrics by Takashi Matsumoto, and sung by Matsuda Seiko. At the time of its release, red sweet pea (flower) was a minor color, but this song became a hit and led to the breeding and sale of bright red sweet peas.
"SWEET MEMORIES"
Composed in the form of a rock-a-ballad in 12/8 time, this stylish and mature work features English lyrics in the second verse. This song is well known among people of all ages, as it was featured in a McDonald's commercial in 2020.
"Missing You"
This song, written and composed by Seiko Matsuda herself, is a million-seller certified by the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
"Blue Lagoon"
A representative song from the early days of Seiko Matsuda's career, “Blue Coral Reef” won the 22nd Record Award for Best New Artist and the 11th Japan Song Award for Best New Artist in Broadcast Music, and was featured in a commercial for Glico “Yorel” in 2021.
